The current campaign is to make a short film, Wind. You can read details here.
My Art Depends On Your Love
I struggle to make sci-fi and fantasy films set in my cultures (Luo, East Africa) for they require heavy investments to achieve photo-realistic VFX, yet we barely have a market to support such ventures, and the big international players largely ignore us. Crowdfunding enabled me to make many short films as target practice, until I achieve good visual effects like this. Even $1 helps! It proves that you enjoy my stories enough to pay for it. And, I have a lot of ways to say thank you, whether you give a one-off donation through PayPal, or you pledge continuous support through Patreon, Ko-Fi, or LiberaPay, I can’t say thank you enough!
What you get in return
If you pledge via patreon, there are great reward for each tier of support. If you make a one-off donation through PayPal, or pledge via ko-fi or LiberaPay, this is what you get in return.
Donate $1 and you get early access to the film (whichever film I make after you donate). Plus, you get digital art and wallpapers for your devices, desktop or mobile, themed on my short films, or on nature photography that I do. You’ll love this if you are a fan of birds and insects. Plus, you get mentioned in the credits!
Donate $3 and get all above plus access to download a high quality version of the most recent film, or a film of your choice.
Donate $5 and get all above plus access to download Little Red Eve (2025), my most recent short film. See the trailer here.
Donate $10 and get all above plus access to download Akoota (2019). See the trailer here.
Donate $20 and get all above plus a novella, The Eater of Happiness, currently unpublished, steeped in Luo mythology. It’s about a woman who wakes up heavily pregnant, and yet the previous day she was not, and she has to enlist the help of abiba, a character that shits fire, to defeat the evil of her ex-boyfriend.
Donate Any Amount and you’ll get all the rewards closest to it. For example, if you give $15 you get everything in the $20 bracket. If it is $30 or more, you get a secret bonus (okay, not a secret, but I’ll see what to give you, and it could be a novella, or a WIP short film, or a collection of short stories, or anything you might want!)
